Why preview your listing before it goes live
Seller Central shows you form fields, not the page your customers see. A title that looks fine in a text box can be cut off halfway through on a phone. A main image that looks sharp at full size can turn into an unreadable blur at search-result size. Bullets that fit neatly on desktop become a long scroll on mobile.
A listing mockup puts your images and copy into a realistic Amazon layout so you can catch those problems while they are still free to fix — before you order photography reshoots, before your launch, and before you pay for the first PPC click.
AMZLab shows the same listing three ways: the desktop product page, the mobile product page and the search results page next to competing products. Seeing all three side by side is the fastest way to judge whether your listing gets the click and then holds the shopper.
It is also the easiest way to get feedback. Instead of sending a spreadsheet of bullet points to a business partner, designer or client, you can show them the listing the way a shopper will see it and agree on changes before anything is uploaded. Photographers and designers can check their work in context, and you can compare two versions of a title or gallery order side by side before choosing one.
What to check in the mockup
Title truncation
Check where the title cuts off on mobile and in search. The words shoppers see first should say what the product is and why it's different.
Main image at thumbnail size
Zoom out until the image is as small as a search result. The product should still be instantly recognisable, filling most of the frame on a white background.
Gallery order
Swipe through the mobile gallery like a shopper. Each image should answer the next question — size, features, use, what's included.
Text on images
Infographic text that reads well on desktop can be too small on a phone. If you have to squint in the mobile preview, shoppers will skip it.
Bullet length on mobile
Look at how far a shopper has to scroll to reach your last bullet. Put the strongest buying reason first.
How to create an Amazon listing mockup
- 1
Open the Listing Mockup
Go to the app and choose the Listing Mockup tab. No account is needed to try it.
- 2
Upload up to 9 images
Drag in your main image first, then the rest of your gallery in the order you plan to use on Amazon.
- 3
Add your title, bullets and price
Paste the copy you plan to publish. The preview updates as you type.
- 4
Switch between desktop, mobile and split view
Use split view to compare both layouts at once, then check the SERP Simulator to see your listing next to competitors.
- 5
Fix, re-order and compare
Re-order images in Image Flow, adjust your title, and check again until the listing reads well everywhere.
Common mistakes the mockup catches
Key detail hidden past the mobile cut-off
Before: "ACME Home Essentials Collection Premium Stainless Steel Insulated Water Bottle…"
After: "Insulated Water Bottle 32oz, Stainless Steel, Leak-Proof…"
On mobile only the first part of the title shows. If it's brand and filler, the shopper doesn't learn what the product is.
Main image with too much empty space
Before: A small bottle in the middle of a large white canvas.
After: The bottle fills most of the frame, cropped close.
In search results every image is shrunk to the same small size. A product that fills the frame looks bigger and clearer than the one next to it.
Infographic text too small for phones
Before: Six feature callouts in small type on one image.
After: Two or three short callouts in large type, spread across several images.
Most text that is readable on a laptop screen becomes unreadable on a phone. The mobile preview shows it immediately.
